The Brantford Bulldogs secured a crucial overtime victory in Game 3 on Tuesday night off the stick of Delhi, Ontario's Marek Vanacker as he played the hero in North Bay.
The Chicago Blackhawks first-rounder found the back of the net at the 5:29 mark of extra time to give Brantford a 4-3 win.
Vanacker led the charge with two goals, while Buffalo Sabres prospect goaltender Ryerson Leenders turned aside 31 of 34 shots in the victory.
Noah Nelson and Luca Testa also scored for Brantford both have added valuable depth throughout the series.
A pair of third period goals from Ethan Procyszyn and Lirim Amidovski forced overtime for North Bay in front of their "seventh man" at Memorial Gardens.
The Battalion will look to bounce back in Game 4 on home ice, with series standout Mike McIvor expected to get the start in goal after a strong 34-save performance on 38 shots.
Brantford will have a chance to close out the series and advance to round two Thursday night at North Bay Memorial Gardens. Puck drop is set for 7:00 p.m.
