It’s been a series dominated by the home team and on Thursday night, the Oshawa Generals took Game 4 over the Brantford Bulldogs by a 4-2 score, evening up their second round Eastern Conference best of seven series in the OHL Playoffs.
It was Anaheim Ducks third overall pick in the 2024 NHL Draft Beckett Sennecke’s three-point night that led the Generals in this one.
The Bulldogs opened the scoring with their first road power-play goal of the postseason, courtesy of Chicago Blackhawks prospect Marek Vanacker, to take a 1-0 lead after the first frame.
Sennecke and Colby Barlow responded on the power play, giving the Generals a one-goal lead. Calvin Crombie would tie the game at two for the Bulldogs with eight minutes left in regulation.
Then, 16-year-old Brooks Rogowski made a hard forecheck with six minutes remaining, forcing a Bulldogs defensive zone turnover. That led to Matthew Buckley, who made no mistake from point-blank range, scoring the game-winning goal to make it 3-2.
Sennecke sealed the win with an empty net tally while Jacob Oster made 24 saves in the victory, with David Egorov stopped 25 of 28 in defeat.
The undermanned Bulldogs, without 70-goal man Nick Lardis and starting goaltender Ryerson Leenders, will look to bounce back on home ice Saturday evening at the Civic Centre for Game 5 with the series evened up at two apiece.
