The London Knights entered the postseason as the OHL’s number one seed and they continued their dominant play in Game 1 against Owen Sound. Final score was 6-1 in favour of the hometown Knights in front of 9061 fans at Canada Life Place.
Five different Knights recorded a multi-point game including San Jose Sharks prospects Sam Dickinson who scored twice and added one assist as well as Kasper Halttunen, who scored his first of the postseason and helped out on another.
Goaltender Austin Elliot who only lost once during the regular season, picked up his first win of the 2025 playoffs, making 24 saves on 25 shots while Carter George suffered the loss, stopping 36 of 42.
The only man to find the back of the net for Owen Sound was Alec Leonard at the 9:20 mark of the second period. Masen Wray collected the only helper.
This contest was also filled with a ton of penalties as the parade to the penalty box was consistent throughout the game. 30 combined penalties were handed out including 2 fighting majors and 6 misconduct penalties.
