The Western Conference's top seeded London Knights will head to the Bayshore in Owen Sound with a 2-0 series lead in the OHL Playoffs after a 6-3 victory in game 2 on Sunday.
It was a dominant first period for the Knights as they fired 19 shots at Carter George and scored four times to lead 4-0 heading into the first intermission. It was the Knights stars that got them going as Philadelphia Flyers prospect Denver Barkey scored first at the 5:38 mark of the opening period, with Toronto Maple Leafs prospect Easton Cowen scoring just four minutes later to make it 2-0. Landon Sim and Jared Woolley would close out the scoring in the first. Barkey, London's captain, went on to have a two-goal and three-assist night.
In the second period, the Attack would start to pressure the Knights who seemed to take their foot off the gas pedal, allowing three unanswered goals by Owen Sound. Pierce Mbuyi, Bruce McDonald and Tristan Delisle were all able to beat Knights goaltender Austin Elliot in the middle frame.
The Knights would score two late goals in the third to get them to the finish line and to a 6-3 win. London outshot Owen Sound in this one 41-25 and Austin Elliott stopped 22 shots in the victory in front of 9061 at Canada Life Place.
The series will now shift to Owen Sound for Game 3 hosted at the Bayshore on Tuesday at 7:00pm.
