Soo captain Caeden Carlisle played hero on Monday to get his Greyhounds squad back in series with a 3-2 OT win over the Windsor Spitfires.
Despite surrendering the opening goal for the third straight game, the Greyhounds were able to find their way to the lead after goals from Justin Cloutier in the second period and Travis Hayes in the third.
Windsor, looking for the equalizer late, got it from Liam Greentree who scored with 21 seconds left in regulation to force overtime. Ilya Protas and Carson Woodall collected the assists on the game tying goal.
In the extra frame, Carlisle would send the puck to the net from the point and it beat Spitfires goaltender Joey Costanzo to get the Greyhounds back in the series. Windsor now leads this best of seven series 2-1.
Nolan Lalonde had a very good bounce back performance after being pulled in game 2. He made 31 saves on 33 shots for the victory while Joey Costanzo stopped 30 of 33 for the loss.
This series will resume on Wednesday with puck drop at 7:07pm at GFL Memorial Gardens. Windsor will head into game 4 with a 2-1 series lead.
